Manuela Dalle is a director, sociologist and casting director. After studying political and social sciences, she works at the french research center, CNRS. She starts directing her first films for french TV (the show “Strip-Tease”). She then begins to work in the realm of Contemporary-Art directing several portraits of artists for the french-german TV ARTE : from photographers to street-artists and visual artists. She also develops more unconventional formats in the domain of contemporary art as well as digital (“je me souviens” for the 3ème Scène de l’Opéra National de Paris, “Scan 1” for the Biennale de Montrouge). With her movie Catho On The Road in 2014, she starts to make a name for herself in the USA and is well received by critics. Manuela Dalle is defined by a style that is “subjective and sensitive” and her “soft but sharp” eye she has on social events. Today, she explores the lyrical world by directing a 90 minutes film about young artists in residency at the Opéra National de Paris for the french tv show “Infrarouge” on France 2. In the mean time she is working on two films for ARTE (one on the composer Claude Debussy and the other one on the photographer Harry Gruyaert).
